VOGEL LEADS CHESTER COUNTY GOP STRAW POLLS AHEAD OF ENDORSEMENT CONVENTION FOR PA-6
MALVERN, PENNSYLVANIA – With just over a week to go until the Chester County Republican Party’s endorsement convention, political newcomer Ron Vogel appears to be in the lead for the GOP’s nod for Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District.
At the conclusion of each of five separate candidate interviews prior to its nominating convention, committee members from the Chester County GOP cast non-binding votes of confidence for their preferred candidates. Now that all the candidate interviews have been completed, Vogel heads into the convention with a significant lead over his fellow Republican opponents. The tallies for the candidates are as follows:
- Ron Vogel: 84
- Steve Fanelli: 66
- Regina Mauro: 57
- Maureen McCauley: 5
- Bob Kennedy: 4
“I am truly honored by the straw poll votes I have received from the Chester County GOP,” says Vogel. “Earning the endorsements of the Chester County and Berks County Republican Committees, respectively, would be a tremendous victory for me. With that said, a lot can happen between now and Chester County’s convention, so I take nothing for granted. I’ll spend every day from now until then working to earn the trust of the Republican committee members. If I’m blessed to call myself the endorsed candidate after the convention, I’ll do my best to make them proud of their decision.”
The nominating convention for the Republican Committee of Chester County is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, February 15th. The Republican Committee of Berks County, which also covers a significant portion of the proposed boundary lines of the 6th Congressional District, will make its endorsements in April.
